Beginning with one reelers and split reelers, which usually combined a short comedy with a topical subject, the Flying A grew along with the industry and evolved to features of five, six or seven reels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This searchable database contains information about these films. The filmography takes its seed from Appendix B in Tim Lyon&#8217;s THE SILENT PARTNER: The History of the American Film Manufacturing Company, 1972. A significant amount of material, both surviving film prints and manuscripts, have been located since Tim&#8217;s doctoral thesis.
