Biography:
Taylor came to American to direct "The Diamond From the Sky" serial, taking over from Irving Cummings who had been pressed into service briefly after Jacques Jaccard left the production. Jaccard had suffered a nervous breakdown while working at a previous studio and it is possible that he was not able to perform under the pressures of the thirty episode project. It appears that Cummings stepped in on an emergency basis to keep the serial on schedule while Taylor acclimated to the production and the studio.
