Biography:

Julius came to the Santa Barbara studio from Chicago to fill the position vacated by Wallace Kerrigan. He had been an administrator at Selig Polyscope but took on a far more varied work load at Flying A. In addition to managing the newly built studio he also served as actor with the Thomas Ricketts unit and also took on directing assignments at times, such as a trip to Santa Maria with cameraman J.W. Brown in November of 1913 to gather footage of local industries for inclusion in a documentary.
