Biography:
Frank Borzage (Pron: borzaygee) won the very first oscar for direction on the film "7th Heaven." What is not so widely known is that Frank began his career as a director in Santa Barbara, late in 1915 on the two reeler "The Pitch 'O Chance." He continued to star in and direct two and three reelers plus features for American during the coming year before moving on to Triangle.
