Biography:

Born Mary Brooks in Sisson, California, Anna Little transitioned from a touring stock company to the movie business in 1911. Coming from Universal Anna joined American in 1915.



At American, Anna starred in a wide range of films that included comedies, romances and dramas. Although best known for her work in westerns, Anna also tried her hand at social dramas, especially in her later career.



While at American, Anna reached star status and with over 60 shorts under her belt, this equestrienne was given the opportunity to star in feature films. Having played leading lady in various shorts alongside actor/director Frank Borzage, the two teamed up for their first western feature film, Land O’Lizards, which was well received by critics.



In 1916 Anna married actor Allan Forrest. Just before departing from American, Anna and Borzage worked on their second and last feature film together, Immediate Lee. Afterwards, Anna went on to work for several film companies before settling with Paramount, which allowed her to work in feature films again. Her husband, on a path to a successful career, remained at American and by 1918 the couple divorced. By the late teens she had shortened her name to Ann and still enjoying a successful career in 1925 Ann walked away from the business without explanation.
