Biography:
Czech born, John Malinkovic came to Chicago after studying art and decoration in Vienna. At some point in 1917, having changed his name by then to Mallin, John found himself at the Santa Barbara studio and worked for an undetermined time as an artist. It is very likely that he contributed to the set dressing and perhaps also the background paintings that can be glimpsed through the windows of various American sets.
