Biography:
Athelburt Ball was severely injured in a cavalry charge at the Gillespie place yesterday. During an exciting scene he fell over a low embankment and it is possible a small bone in the left ankle was fractured. Ball was playing the part of an American cavalryman but in this particular scene was on foot and rushing through a cane break. - Santa Barbara Morning Press, July 8, 1913
