Biography:
Superintendent of original factory and studio in Chicago, moving from same post at Essanay, Gilbert also directed and was the first Flying A director with the California unit. At a time when many hats needed to be worn he managed the business affairs of the unit and acted as well. He would depart for other ventures, leaving a place for Allan Dwan.
