Story Summary:
In the frontier days a breath of suspicion was enough to incite the ever-ready mob to violence and the lynch law. It was very remarkable that Amos Brown, a Wells-Fargo Express agent, was allowed to escape with his life when it was discovered that $20,000 worth of bullion had disappeared from the office. The mob quickly gathered and followed him to his home. Bess, a friend of the agent's wife and the stage driver dominated the mob almost at the risk of their own lives and succeeded in saving him from the noose, but he had to leave town within the hour. So, with his sobbing wife, he left the town where a few hours before he had been honored and respected. The shadow and stigma hung over him and darkened his life for months until chance threw Bess, who was now married to the stage driver and settled on the ranch, on the trail of the real bandits. She immediately got her husband a posse, who captured the bandits with the treasure. End shows agent restored to his position and full restitution made. - Moving Picture World, February 1914
