Story Summary: A duke is banished for dueling with a less skilled opponent. The duchess’s child dies while on a trip to America. Due to her loneliness she brings a young girl back with her from America. Upon her return she is struck with mental paralysis and the young girl accepts the title of “princess” which her guardians believe her to be not knowing of the death of the infant.
